One might ask what do Jesus and a Rubik's cube have in common? The answers fairly simple they both are great time consuming puzzles with many sides and one real solution. I like puzzles but can honestly say I hate the Rubik's cube mainly because I have never been able to figure it out. I just don't get it! This is something else Jesus shares with the Rubik's cube most of us just don't really get Him the whole Him. In my attempts to solve a Rubik's cube I could get one sometimes two sides completed but never the whole thing. I see this as the place many in the Christian faith have gotten myself included. We gain solid grasp on one or two facets of Christ for some its the social justice side for others its the moral code of ethics that at times seem to rival His social justice side. Just like the Rubik's cube following Jesus can be incredibly frustrating at times but some how in the midst of the frustration there is a sense of accomplishment in solving parts of the puzzle. Just as the Rubik's cube had one real solution Christ had one real answer “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." a simple statement to close this stream of thought - don't give up on the puzzle.Friday, March 12, 2010
